Hey Billy!!
You still and always will ROCK!! No matter what negative garbage people say. From Cathy :)
Calling the Beatles Sell outs for stepping away from Chord progression doo wops to evolve into a sound that changed the rest of music history? The "drug washed sound" was musical studio evolution and there is not one producer in the new world that isn't influenced by what they did in a very direct or indirect way.
The Smashing Pumpkins are a great band and cannot be compared to the Beatles. I really enjoy the distortion and Billy's guitar sense of melancholy melody.
I find the Beatles very boring but would never put someone down for liking them. Pumpkins, on the other hand, are very interesting. Can't get enough of them. One of my biggest musical regrets is not seeing them in concert. Hopefully I will get another chance.
dude, eddie, it totaly depends on your kind of music. if you don't like the pumpkins then your intitled to your opinion but you don't have to make fun of people that like them. i personly don't like the beatles that much. i respect them but i would prefer to hear many bands over them, but i am not going to make fun of you for your opinion.
Used to be a big pumpkins fan...before zeitgeist, of course...but eddiegamble over here is kinda retarded...of course the Beatles are: a) going to be liked more popularly than the SP's & b) sound "different"... but not necessarily "better"...yeah billy may have a whiny voice and the guitars were cleanly distorted...thats the idea...its a completely different genre of music...and if you dont like it, no one is going to force you to listen to it...at least the SP's have stuck with their own unique sound, unlike that of the british pop to drug rock sound-switching band, The Beatles... the definition of a "sell-out"
This guy has the most annoying voice I've ever heard. Thankfully I can turn it off and let you "Pumpkin" fans rock out, but personally, I don't see any talent in this cacaphony of steel strings and whining vocals. Give me the Beatles any day, and I'm sorry, you can't put them down or you'll fry in Hell.
