This song means so much to me b/c I had gotten married at 20, and he left me for someone else, 2 years later I met my baby's father, and fell in love. He got locked up the day she turned 1 month, and I have stuck by his side and loved him as much as always. She will be 2 in a couple of months, so it will make 2 yrs for him as well. This song is for us to know we have the strength to move on. When he comes home we can then pick up the pieces of our life and not let any more years go by. TIme goes by so fast, Now I'm looking back and realize so much precious time is gone for the man I love and our family. Not anymore, tomorrow is a new day!
The first time I heard this song I sent it to my sister for her husband, because not only did it sound like my life it sounded like his too! less then 2 months later we were playing it at his funeral after he committed suicide. It is a remarkable song and really makes you think about your life as a whole. It was a beautiful song at a horrible time watching my newphews try and speak at their dad's funeral while this song playedf and I can't help but cry every time I hear it.
My uncle was sentenced to over 12 years in a Tx state prison. 5 weeks before he was to be released he passed of heart failure. I wrote these lyrics down for him a month before he passed.... I played this for him at his funeral not knowing whether he heard it while he was still alive in prison. He was only 40. The saddest thing was seeing my grandmother sitting in front of his coffin.... She was dying of cancer. She never got to see him out in the world before he died. She died less than a year later. I would like to thank Rascal Flatts for this song. It has helped our family move on.
