jewel is such an amazing different singer! and awesome lyricist! why isnt this cd doing better? also did her and her bf break up???
Jewel is an incredibly unique and talented artist...so different from all the over-produced crap from "singers" in whatever genre you want to look at. She has a recognizeable style and sound...that to me is true artistry. And the teeth comments!!! Good grief people!! It shows she is real and it gives her character. Just think about some music legends and their looks...Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson. These people expressed personal style and it made them legendary. Jewel is beautiful and talented, if you don't like her, don't listen but don't insult either.
I am pretty certain Jewel's roots are in country. It's nothing new for her. I love her. Everyone has a story to tell...and I enjoy listening to hers. Whether it leans toward folk or country really doesn't matter to me...a good song is still a good song. We all have a right to our opinions...good or bad, but if no one liked her, she wouldn't still be selling CDs.
One of the most beautiful things I've ever heard is Jewel's song Angel Standing By. It has become our family's lullaby to the babies in this family, and every baby on planet Earth has an angel standing by. To gaze at a newborn and hear that lullaby teaches us what weak-kneed means.
Jewel is so underrated. She is one of the best singer songwriters of our time. She sings just as good live as she does in a recording. For those who have never had the pleasure of seeing her live then your surely missing out. I'm tired of all the remarks about her teeth. She obviously doesn't care so why should you. Everyone has imperfections. For those who don't like her music don't listen and let those who do let them enjoy her beautiful voice and songs. Jewel rocks!!!
