this is a beautiful song, i lost my husband fron a brain tumor 3 yrs ago. he sings this song so heartfelt that it made me cry. love you david , you are an insperation to me.

Permanent manages to be life affirming and hopeful amidst its somber mood. It can resonate in many life situations besides the one intended by its songwriters. Dance groups have used it and reinterpreted its meaning. It is just a spare, hauntingly beautiful song that I have an emotional reaction to upon listening to it.

I wish I could sing this song to my father who died years ago to cancer. The lyrics of this song are so simple and yet so powerful and reflect so perfectly what I was feeling at the time. More than ever I feel so happy and so proud of being a David Cook fan. It's so hard to find rockers/musicians with a heart today. I wish God keep blessing this guy, his heart is golden!

This song is breathtaking and the emotional arrangement he did on Idol to raise money for charity is even more so. The charity single can be downloaded at I-tunes. What an easy way to support a charity.

David Cook gave a brilliant, heartwrenching performance of this most beautiful song of love of family. Everyone has been touched by a loved one's struggle with illness, and this song moves me to tears, especially this performance. A tribute to his brother and a testament to David's heart, ALL proceeds from the sale of this performance will go to Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure, the disease that took his brother just 2 weeks prior after an 11 year battle.
