"'Buttermilk John' was a song I wrote in tribute to John Hughey. John was a steel guitar player who played on my records for nearly 20 years. Everything that you heard me do after 'When I Call Your Name' was John -- he really gave my music great definition."

I AM 74 YRS OLD AND I MYSELF THINK THAT VINCE GILL IS AND STILL IS THE BEST COUNTRY SINGER THAT I HAVE EVER HEARD AND I STILL LISTEN TO HIS SONGS.

I have been a fan of Vince Gill since I came across his session on Austin City Limits back in 92.
I feel that he is one of the best Country singers then and he still is, no question about it!
