On selecting Nigel Godrich to produce this album:
I wanted to work with someone I hadn’t worked with before, so I rang my old Beatles producer, George Martin. He said Nigel Godrich is doing some really good work. Then I met Nigel, and we got on well and sonically, he’s a really good engineer. I knew his work from Radiohead and from Beck and Travis and all those records sounded really good to me. So it was kind of exciting working with him.
