Nelly Furtado, 'Big Hoops (Bigger the Better)' (Sessions)

Nelly Furtado is currently preparing to release her fifth studio album The Spirit Indestructible in September, collaborating with hit-makers like Salaam Remi, Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins and Bob Rock, and returning with a sound which she has compared to her 2000 debut, Whoa, Nelly!

As fans anxiously await her new release, the Canadian singer-songwriter stopped by AOL Music's Los Angeles studios to perform several songs from her forthcoming LP, including her hit single "Big Hoops (Bigger the Better)." After Nelly's rousing performance, AOL Music spoke with the singer -- who was both poised and hilarious -- about her experience volunteering in Africa, motherhood and the responsibilities she deals with as a female artist.
