AOL: You're headed out on your first headlining tour. What's the survival guide to staying sane on the road? What do you have in your suitcase?
LG: Well, in my physical suitcase, I've got lots of high heels, plenty of sunglasses. My keyboard is in my bus in the back room where I sleep, and my love in my heart, really. I have a tremendous passion for my work, and I guess I don't see what I do as any need for survival. It's my life. I do believe for some that you would die if you were forbidden to make music.
AOL: You began playing piano by ear when you were four. Did you already know music was going to be your form of expression?
LG: Well, yes. I do believe that music begins in the marrow of your bones, and it's inside of you very early on. I don't think you acquire this passion. I think that it is innate. But I think that some stifle their creativity and block it, whereas I've made quite a few sacrifices and devotions in my life to make myself open for the vision and open for the creativity.
