Kings of Leon, 'McFearless' (Sessions)

AOL: What goes through your mind when you get the chance to play with icons like Bob Dylan and Pearl Jam?

Caleb: When you're playing with Bob Dylan and you walk in and everyone's sitting down, we're not gonna go in there and try to play to his style and conform. So we would start the set with 'Black Thumbnail,' and that would get them off their butts, I guess. You know, Dylan, we didn't expect him to ever like talk to us or look at us or anything. But we actually didn't realize how big of a fan he was. We thought that someone working with him was like, 'You should have these guys out.' But come to find out, he talks about us on his radio show, and he's like a huge fan. He asked me what the last song was that we played, and it was 'Trani,' and he said, 'That's a hell of a song.' When he said that, we were like, 'Wow.' But I mean, the other bands that we tour with, like Pearl Jam, they're sweethearts. We were good friends with them. It was pretty much we'd play our show and then go surfing and stuff like that.
