Alanis Morissette, 'Simple Together' (Sessions)

AOL: Which of your albums was the hardest to complete?

AM: The hardest record to make was 'Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie' because it was the follow up to 'Jagged Little Pill,' and everywhere I went, every grocery store I walked into, I was met with the question: "When's your next record coming out?" It got to the point where I wanted to strangle everyone. I like to write. I don't believe in writer's block. I just believe you write when you want to write, and certainly structure and discipline can help a little bit, but when it's time to write, it's pretty obvious to me. So, I was writing when I didn't want to be writing. I just wanted to watch movies and walk around in my pajamas, but I was in the studio instead. Thankfully, songs like 'Thank U' and 'That I Would Be Good' -- those songs made it OK for me to be writing again.
