AOL Radio Vista Manual Fix

We have a fix for those of you having trouble running AOL Radio on Windows Vista.



NOTE: Before you run the plug-in, make sure you are logged in as an Admin. Also make sure that your User Account Control is turned on (Start > Control Panel > User Accounts > Turn User Account Control On).



1. Print or write down these instructions because you will have to close your browser in step 4.

2. Right-click on the download link listed here:
http://radaol-prod-web-rr.streamops.aol.com/mediaplugin/2.6/ampx_english.exe
and select "Save Target As..."
NOTE: This file should only be downloaded and installed if you have a Vista machine.

3. Select your Desktop as the destination and click "Save"

4. Once the file has finished downloading, quit Internet Explorer

5. Double-click on "ampx_english" (the file you downloaded to your Desktop in step 3)

6. You will then see a User Account Control window with the message: "A program needs your permission to continue." Click Continue

7. You will then see a window similar to this one:


8. Click on "Reinstall using recommended settings"

9. If you see a User Account Control window with the message: "A program needs your permission to continue," click Continue

10. Launch IE7 and enjoy AOL Radio

NOTE: If you still are having trouble, try the instructions below depending on whether you use AOL Radio in Internet Explorer or AOL Radio in AOL 9.0

Alternate Fix for IE Users

NOTE: Please try these steps only if the above set of instructions at the top don't work for you.



You can add AOL Radio to your list of trusted websites. To do this, follow these instructions

1. Go to the Tools menu at the top of your browser and choose "Internet Options"
2. Select the "Security" tab in the window that pops up.
3. In the "Security" tab, click on the big green checkmark icon that has the text 'Trusted Sites' underneath it.
4. Click on the "Sites" button after doing Step 3. (NOTE: Your window should look something like this):

5. The "Trusted sites" window will pop up. Underneath the text "Add this web site to the zone:" put this URL in the box
radaol-prod-web-rr.streamops.aol.com
and click "Add"
6. Uncheck the "Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone" checkbox
7. Click "OK" when you're finished.
8. Go to http://www.aolradio.com and try running AOL Radio again.

Alternate Fix for AOL 9.0 Vista Users

NOTE: Please try these steps only if the above set of instructions at the top don't work for you.



If you haven't already, you need to upgrade to AOL 9.0 VR (Vista Ready). If you already upgraded and are still experiencing trouble, try reinstalling it again.

1. Go to Keyword (Cntrl + K): Upgrade (or go to http://daol.aol.com/software/upgrade in your AOL web browser window).
2. Click on the button on the left that says "Get AOL 9.0"
3. When prompted, click on the "Run" button to allow AOL 9.0 VR to be installed (or reinstalled if you already have it)
4. Once installed, reboot your computer and log onto AOL 9.0 VR with your screenname and password.
