Police Use Pepper Spray to Subdue 8-Year-Old at School
Apr 6th 2011 5:38PM Is this child so big that adults cannot handle him? Is he the next NBA superstar (9 feet tall, 800 lbs?). It sound more of the problem that pepper spray is used because they have it. If there were no pepper spray, would the police simply have shot him? Maybe; this is a glaring example of why police are underpaid. They should be salaried at $100,000+ per annum, and only the best and brightest dispassionate professionals hired. At $100k+, you recruit people who do not have a power / gun / high speed chase / etc macho (including the police women) mentality, rather you get enhanced social workers authorized to use lethal force if absolutely necessary. God help us if police had light sabers.....steve in chicago
George Lopez Apologizes to Kirstie Alley on Twitter
Mar 25th 2011 2:46PM Be carefull of whom you insult on the way up, because they are the people you may need on the way down. Obesity in the modern world is due to many things -- an over abudance of cheap food, high stress at work and in social arena, change in work routines that minimize physical activity, etc etc etc. Mental health is a part of it. Wide spread diabetes in its various forms plays a role. Don't forget that she is not 21 any more and advancing years plays a part.So let's cut Kristie Alley some slack. There for the grace of God go we all.
Ryan Phillippe's Ex-Girfriend Pregnant With His Child?
Mar 15th 2011 10:12AM As predicted in the Bible - their wickedness has no limit. The end surely is upon us. Repent while there is time.
John Galliano's Show Canceled, Replaced With Presentation
Mar 4th 2011 1:59PM We have met the enemy, and he is us. Also, be gentle to those you meet on the way up, because they are the same you will meet on the way down. Lastly, in today's environment, rehab (not patriotism) is the last refuge for the depraved....pray for them
Lindsay Lohan To Be Charged With Felony Grand Theft on Wednesday
Feb 9th 2011 12:19PM THE SAVAGE FACE OF MENTAL ILLNESS: IT DOESN'T MATTER IF LOHAN IS CONVICTED, PLEA BARGINS, OR CHARGES ARE DROPPED. SHORTLY SHE WILL BE IN THE HEADLINES WITH ANOTHER PERSONAL PROBLEM. THIS IS THE SIGN OF MENTAL ILLNESS. THE TRUTH IS THAT SHE WANTS TO BE CAUGHT, ARRESTED, DAY IN COURT, MEDIA ATTENTION. SHE IS NOT WELL AND PROBABLY NEEDS LONG TERM INSTITUTIONALIZATION (NOT THE SLAMMER, BUT MENTAL HEALTH). FOR THE MOMENT MONEY IS NOT THE ISSUE ALTHOUGH IT MAY BE PART OF THE PROBLEM (ENOUMOUS WEALTH MEANS ENORMOUS IRRESPONSIBILITY), IT IS HER STATE OF MIND. FEAR THE MENTALLY ILL. THEY JUST CAN'T RUIN THEIR LIVES FAST ENOUGH. PERHAPS ONLY PRAYER AND POVERTR CAN CURE THIS ONE.
Patricia Kluge: Billionaire's Ex-Wife Faces Foreclosure
Jan 25th 2011 7:40PM From Midas to mendicant; how do these things happen? Bad luck is a possibility, but more likely is the flaw (fomerly called "sin") of pride, avarice, and close cousin arrogance. This things can creep up on the unsuspecting; incrementally they can erode good judgement, especially for those who are insecure and hoping for comfort by acceptance among the uber-wealthy. Most certainly an ex "nude model" has quite a bit to live down, having been pimped by scoundrels peddling her photos. Insecurity is a form or not knowing who you are, and it leads to looking to others for your self image. Josephine Baker flaunted it, but at least she knew who she was (still her final years were lean by some standards). It is best to be a bit crusty and willing to walk away from others when their lifestyle is different from what you know is right. "Yoke not yourself to the unbeliever" is wise advice for many circumstances. Seeking security in extravagance is the sin of pride....and it frequently brings woe. I will pray for her tonight.
Genetically Altered Salmon Swim Closer
Sep 9th 2010 2:40PM Can government agencies be trusted? Advocates for consumption of the altered salmon seem to be looking for FDA governmental endorsement to alay our fears. Tragically, governmental endorsements have lost their credibility. Third party independent analysis is the only way, and this would require long term study, not just a couple of months or a few years, with a large sample. I hardly think that the salmon industry would fund such comprehensive testing, but maybe the government would -- meantime, use it for cat food. Perhaps several generations of my family can feed the family cat on altered salmon, and if he doesn't grow a third eye, get cancer, or fail to engender viable kittens, well, maybe this time next century I could eat it and still sleep well at night.
Two Million Lights Illuminate Mecca's New Clock, Puts Big Ben to Shame
Aug 13th 2010 5:02PM Every nation and people are entitles to art, self confidence, pride and a feeling of self worth. It is a beautiful clock. Ostentatious shows of wealth are as good as one's deep pockets. I for one would not like to see my future based on petroleum reserves. They are finite and so ultimately will be one's bank account. In the long run the Saudis need to develop an additional economy, but then again, I don't see them distributing "walking around" money to the average Saudi
