Why They Rock: As their smash single boldly declares, these political lightning rods are "not ready to make nice," but that certainly hasn't hurt record sales. Their latest, 'Taking the Long Way,' debuted at No. 1 on both the country and pop charts, proving their success in the jump from country to a more genre-bending rock sound. With very little airplay, it has now sold more than 1.5 million copies.

Most Rockin' Moment: Not ones to let their battle with the Bush administration lie, the Chicks opened their Accidents and Accusations tour with a version of 'Hail to the Chief.'
