Winehouse's Drug 'Suppliers' Charged

LONDON (June 12) - Police have charged a man and a woman in London with supplying drugs to soul diva Amy Winehouse.

The charges stem from a video that appeared to show the singer smoking crack cocaine.

London police say John Blagrove and Cara Burton have been charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine and MDMA, also known as ecstasy.

The suspects were released on bail Thursday until their next court appearance on July 1.

Police began an investigation after photos from the footage were published in The Sun newspaper in January. Detectives say Winehouse will not be charged in the case.

The singer has seen her rise to fame overshadowed by media attention to her turbulent private life. She is best known for her breakthrough hit "Rehab."

I don't understand why only the dealers are being charged and not Amy? They all should be charged, period. I can understand if they were the huge drug lords and she testified and/or helped lead to their arrest/conviction so she made a deal and received immunity but that's not the case, this is a man and a woman who probably sell to a certain piddly amount of customers compared to the big time, top dealers so again, why? And as jdh7070 said, what a crappy article that leaves out details as to how the video of her smoking crack led to the dealers? ***SIDE NOTE*** Before anyone comes down on me for saying the man and woman "only sold to a piddly amount of people", I get that selling to one or one hundred people is wrong, I only used that wording to compare it to why the user doesn't get charged too, it's usually the big, top dealers who sell to the smaller but still big guy who sells to a smaller group who then sells to the individual/partner dealers like these 2.

I like how they say that Amy Crackhouse wont be charged. Im sure in that country like ours, you get prosecuted if youre caught with drugs. Another example of how there are 2 sets of laws...one for the common folks and the one for the C-lebs
