Usher, please don't complain because there is great interest only if both of you are stars, most especially the WOMAN ,which your wife is not and if the woman is married. I understand that's your first child but that's your wife's fourth. Most of them give the money to charity anyway. If a magazine want to pay for picture of my baby why not, they are paying for those boring sex tapes, I would rather see baby pictures than those sex tapes.

Except for Brad and Angie, who donate half their incomes to charities, these has been stars are desperate for money and attention, so what better way than to get knocked up, snag a few million bucks off a dorky baby picture and try to revive a dying career. And if that doesn't work, there's always a Playboy spread or reality tv show waiting for them. I personally can't think of anything grosser than Tori Spelling nude.

Usher doesn't have to charge for this baby's photos and then donate the money to charity to help other children. The only child he has a financial obiligation to support or help is his. Also while Essence may be read by half the people who read People, 99% of the people who read Essence are probably Black. And in case you haven't noticed, so is Usher. On the other hand, 99% of the people who read People are probably White. So, guess which one most of his fans probably read.

If the money is donated to charity then I think it's ok to sell the pictures. I mean, the celeb babies that they pay big money for, their parents aren't in need of the cash. Nobody's gonna pay millions of dollars for pictures of the kid of some has-been or "barely was". Maybe Usher wasn't offered the big money?? Maybe we're a little bitter??
badbadangel247 10:16:54 PM May 04 2008
I must say i have to agree with Mr. Usher! Why would celebs want ppl to pay to see a simple picture of their baby if their family wouldnt? Why would magazines pay celebs all that money when more then half of the ppl who sees the baby will probaly not even buy the damn magazine=_= I know i didnt..i just simply picked up the magazine and put it right back down lmao!
Some of the Celebs even ask for more then what was offered now that is just STUPID..and obviously wanting publicity!! Some ppl are talking about papparazii,,what the hell does this have to with the papparazii, how they sell those picture are even more weird and wrong!!

It's not even about the money; it's about the fact that celebrities shouldn't be using their children to get publicity. End of story.

I absolutely don't think celebrities should take money for pictures of their baby, but I disagree that they should keep their baby photos to themselves for 3 reasons. #1. the paparazzi will invade their privacy even more trying to be "THE ONE" that gets the "FIRST" picture and get a big pay day for their self, and it could create a dangerous situation (look how they use helicopters to get wedding pictures). #2. Most fans want to see what their favorite celebrity's babies look like. #3. At least when they pose, they can present their child/children in a beautiful and loving way. I see nothing wrong with posing but I agree with Usher about "pimping" their babies for money. That's really tacky!

Oh by the way....please call Jay-z and Beyoce and see how much they are going to bank on the sell of there "new baby pics". WAY TO USHER, WAY TO GO!
marketing202 10:06:26 PM May 04 2008
What a STUPID, STUPID comment.....
If USHER were trying to gain a sympathetic ear and enlighten the world with his wisdom then he might would have kept his mouth shut and charged ESSENCE a fee for his baby pictures. Essence is a black magazine only read by half the readers of PEOPLE magazine. If USHER wanted to come across as a GOODWILL AMBASSADOR then he should have charged ESSENCE for the baby pictures or negotiated a financial deal with PEOPLE and then donated the money to a GOOD REPUTABLE charity on his NEW BABY's behalf.
This is another example of a celebrity making a STUPID COMMENT before consulting there manager! Anyone with half a brain could have used this as good press to further the advancement of "HUINDRED'S OF KIDS". Whose to say that the Celebs who have been paid for there baby pics are not donating there money to charity? Could it be that we don't know and USHER has been DUPED into believing some crazy marketing ploy by ESSENCE top mamagement to expose his baby's pictu

if you've got it, flaunt it doesn't apply here. i agree completely with usher here.
twinki519 09:47:49 PM May 04 2008
