(Dec. 9) - A California couple is celebrating their engagement by borrowing $100,000 to book one of their favorite metal bands to play a fundraiser for the troops fighting in Iraq.

The soundtrack to the courtship of Megan Moore and Danny Peykoff included Poison, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard and Cinderella concerts, reports the Orange County Register. A Twisted Sister concert was a natural progression for their relationship.

The show will be at the 4,300-seat Bren Events Center at University of California, Irvine. 400 of the tickets were passed out to troops at Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base and Camp Pendleton Marine Base.

If the remaining tickets are sold, the couple will cover their expenses and raise another $100,000 for Southern California Chapter of Operation Homefront, which helps the families of troops serving in Iraq pay their bills.

Moore's father and grandfather both served in the Army colonel, and her uncle was a Marine. Helping out the men and women of the armed forces just made sense.

"We're raising money for these awesome people who fight for our country… and this is our 'thank you' to them," Moore says.

"Well, our attempted 'thank you,'" Peykoff adds.

Good for them! It takes a little ingenuity to help out the people who are fighting so we can listen to bands like Twisted Sister....

Last time I checked, the War in Iraq has 0% to do with defending America, it's culture or it's rock bands. The troops should be supported by a) bringing them home now, b) paying for the families of soldiers slain in an illegal war, and c) paying for the health care of the 10000s of injured soldiers currently in this country.

It doesn't take ingenuity to do this. It takes not spending billions, almost trillions by 2010 if left unchecked. Support the troops, but vote for a presidential candidate who knows that the threat to America is our own laziness, stupidity, and willingness to kill our own neighbors if we 'don't like them.'

What's wrong with this couple trying to give back to those who give so much, and never ask for anything in return, except a little respect? I think it's great that this couple has decided to show some appreciation to the military! Wouldn't it be nice if a small percentage of people tried this?? You know a simple Thank You goes a long way!!! I LOVE OUR MILITARY!!! THANK YOU!!!

***If you can't stand behind our military, WHY DON'T YOU TRY STANDING IN FRONT OF THEM!!!
