I too am a Christian, and the only rock we as Christians can stand on is God's promise that we will be with him when we die. There is no promise of an easy life here on earth. In fact Jesus says in this life we will have trouble, but to take heart because he has overcome the world! The promise of eternal life is only if you are a Believer. If you have not accepted Christ, then you will not go to be with God when you die. You will be cast into outer darkness (Hell), shut out from God's presence. If you've rejected God, then he will likewise reject you on that last day.

No where are we promised a rose garden when we become Christians. Only that He will never leave us, nor forsake us. If you are His, you feel His help and love when it is needed. This lady that passed did not lose Jesus because you think He was not there. He says He will go with us through the valley of the shadow of death. He said, I go to prepare a place for you." "If it were not true, I would have told you". As jbs5022 said, we have no assurance that we will not have trouble in this life. But, I want you to know that I feel that Betty Wright knew her Shepard when He called her. I am very sure that she was more than happy to go with Him. He holds our first breath, and our last breath in His hand.

I am a hospice nurse and a Christian. I see death all of the time. Some peaceful, others make me wonder about the patient. It saddens me when I see one pass who has not made peace with God, they or their family refuse to allow it. God does help us in all situations. He has already made the way for those who trust in Him. If Jesus stopped ALL tragedy then death would not happen and this world would not contain enough room for everyone. We all have a time to come when we too will make the journey. Some to be with Jesus, some to be where no one wants to be. Please understand...God does not want us to die and go away from Him, but to Him where we are promised Eternal Life forever in Love, Health, and Happiness.

These things seem to trouble the non-Christian world. Whenever they see a man of God and His family in a situation where God is supposed to be in control. Eternal life is stamped all over us who are true believers, because God cannot deny His Own. But nothing assures us that we will not die in a day of trouble. Even Jesus Himself died in a day of trouble. Its not the death of a loved one that sets us apart. Its the belief that that loved one survived his or her supernatural delivery and is gone on to be with God in Christ forever amen. Oh it appears to be tragic in nature, but in Spirit, its glorious as the Lord has always said it would be. He created the door into heaven and then held it open for us all to be there whenever the time comes, Amen. Thank You Jesus....
