Chatter of the Week: Kellie Pickler, Eric Church + More

"I was 19 when I first auditioned for 'American Idol.' I'd never been on an airplane; I'd never been outside of my hometown, except to go to Myrtle Beach. I'm 22 now. I'm learning a lot about life, and it's all in front of the cameras." --Kellie Pickler (Source: WCNC)

"We're all three people: we're who we think we are, we're who the audience thinks we are, and we're who we really are. I think the closer those three people are together, the longer your career can last." --Kenny Rogers in an interview with The Boot

"Some of the best advice I ever got was from Kenny Rogers. He said to me, 'The way you go to the top is the way you'll go back down to the bottom. Slow and steady will sustain you. Hard work is the way to go.' I'm trying to follow his advice." --Eric Church (Source: GAC)

George Strait Wants to Go to Heaven, Too

Kenny Chesney's 'Everybody Wants to Go to Heaven' is rapidly climbing the charts, and now the artist who first introduced the song to Chesney is making his version available. George Strait recorded the song for his album 'Troubadour,' and although it didn't make the final cut when the CD was released earlier this year, he's issuing the tune as a digital download.

Strait first played the song for Chesney on a tour stop in Montgomery, Ala. When Strait decided not to include it on his album, Chesney jumped at the chance to record his own version. The single is Chesney's first from his upcoming 'Lucky Old Sun' album. Strait's version is not expected to be released as a single.

The Lost Trailers Have a New Number

Not many celebrities give out their cell phone numbers to fans. But The Lost Trailers do -- all in the name of their live show. The band is encouraging fans at their concerts to send song requests via text message to their 'Trailer Phone.'

"It's a mutual relationship," lead singer Ryder Lee tells GAC of their fans. "They're there for us, and we're there for them, and our set list is a reflection of that. So if a fan wants to hear something during a show, they can just send us a text at 615-708-9463, and we will add that song to the set list right then, because we have the phone on stage."
