For a while now we have offered the ability to keep a history of everything you listened to on AOL Music and Streampad. You can view your history on your profile page as well as within Streampad. A lot of people have told us that they would also love to keep track of everything they listen to offline as well. That seemed like an awesome feature to us. So we went ahead and built it! We are very proud to offer a plug-in for iTunes (Mac and Windows) and Windows Media Player that will send what you listen to directly to your profile. We also built it directly into the latest version of Winamp.

In addition to sending your listening history to your profile, the plug-in will also update your AIM Music status in real-time. People who have added you to their AIM buddy-list will see what you are listening to. The first product to make use of this new and exciting feature is our new homepage. We hope to roll this out in a lot of places over the coming months. Please note that this is not you AIM status, but rather a new special Music status feature that AIM just created.

Installing the plug-in is easy. After downloading, click on the file to run it. After the install process, once you run iTunes or WMP, you will be prompted to enter your user-name and password. Enter your AOL Music or AIM screen-name. Make sure the 'enable' check-box is checked. If you are using iTunes, click on the 'View' menu item and make sure 'AOL Music' is checked under 'Visualizer'.
