CannonInMusic: We're spontaneous and love issh like that
CannonInMusic: lol
PaulWallGetMST: I'll see what it do
PaulWallGetMST: yeah it be goin down over there
CannonInMusic: So how've you been man? What's been happening in the World of Mr. Wall?
PaulWallGetMST: same grind, just been on the road promoting my new CD
PaulWallGetMST: im excited about it!
CannonInMusic: As you should be
CannonInMusic: What's the title of the CD for those who don't know?
PaulWallGetMST: Get Money Stay True, in stores now
PaulWallGetMST: I recorded over 40 songs and narrowed it down to the best 14
CannonInMusic: DAMN man! you wasn't playing
PaulWallGetMST: I've got callaborations with Snoop, Trina, Juelz Santana, Jon B, and LIL KEKE
CannonInMusic: Sounds like a banga!
PaulWallGetMST: and my new group with Tracis Barker and Skinhead Rob called EXPEMSIVE TASTE
PaulWallGetMST: My new single with Jermaine Dupri is called IM THROWED
PaulWallGetMST: I'm sorry, bad spelling, EXPENSIVE TASTE
PaulWallGetMST: TRAVIS BARKER
PaulWallGetMST: Damn, too much sugar and caffiene. I'm wired this morning
CannonInMusic: lol it's cool about the typo's. Hey, we ain't machines that come with spell check and all that
PaulWallGetMST: hahaaaa yeah man fa sho!
CannonInMusic: My brain just woke up lol
PaulWallGetMST: it's all good! we just drove in from Boston, I'm glad to be out of the car for so long
CannonInMusic: So how is this album different from the first one? What made you go with the title/theme behind this joint?
PaulWallGetMST: Get Money Stay True was our slogan at my record label Swisha House
PaulWallGetMST: I love the title
PaulWallGetMST: It's a constant reminder to stay on your grind, but at the same time, not to let success change who you are as a person
CannonInMusic: So it seems like you've been using that principle in your daily life
CannonInMusic: I mean you have a huge amount of success, so it's great to see that you're almost unfazed by it
PaulWallGetMST: I'm in this office trying to figure out how to turn up the volume on the TV
PaulWallGetMST: its hooked up to like a billion stereos and none of the remotes have batteries LOL
CannonInMusic: lol that's wack
PaulWallGetMST: I dont like being an artist, or a celebrity, I want people to look at me and treat me like a person
CannonInMusic: I feel you on that
PaulWallGetMST: that's how I treat other people, not like I'm better then anybody else, because at the end of the day Im a $***head too LOL
CannonInMusic: haha
PaulWallGetMST: I try and treat everybody with respect
CannonInMusic: So I gotta ask you some "celebrity" personal questions
CannonInMusic: Because you're definitely a human being, but people look at you guys as like "Super People"
CannonInMusic: and forget that yall are trying to live, and learn like everyone else
PaulWallGetMST: its all goooood
CannonInMusic: So you've been a married man for sometime now
PaulWallGetMST: yeah man I love it
CannonInMusic: And you've just welcomed a little one into the world.
CannonInMusic: How have you noticed that being married has changed you as a person?
PaulWallGetMST: my lil boy is getting to be so big too, he's trying to walk it out so bad, he's almost there
CannonInMusic: haha lil man is gonna be making records reaaaaaal soon
PaulWallGetMST: I'm grounded, I think that's one of the main reasons why I haven't floated away on a cloud
PaulWallGetMST: because my wife is there to bring me back to reality and slap the $*** outta me if I jump fly!!!!!
CannonInMusic: LOL
PaulWallGetMST: my lil boy Will Wall just made his world premiere in my new video with Jermaine Dupri I'M THROWED (link to video)
CannonInMusic: haha that's tight, I'm sure all of the pre-school and pamper pound girlies will be looking out for him
PaulWallGetMST: hahaaaa yeah he IS single
CannonInMusic: How do you deal with the territory that comes with the game, like the groupies and whatnot; being a married man.
CannonInMusic: Because I mean damn, you're Paul Wall
CannonInMusic: I'm sure ladies be trying to give you some buns for a grill or something
PaulWallGetMST: I got my homeboys over here to take the slack for me
PaulWallGetMST: hahaha
PaulWallGetMST: yeah they do be throwing it at me
PaulWallGetMST: but I'm married
CannonInMusic: lol so you sorta have groupie sex life that lives vicariously through ya homies
PaulWallGetMST: hahahaa yeah man, Ive had my fun in the past, but I grew up
CannonInMusic: I feel you on that, it's good to see a dude in the game promoting values and principles like yourself
PaulWallGetMST: thank you
CannonInMusic: So recently I saw you on the VH1 Special where you took the trip to Sierra Leone
PaulWallGetMST: yeah I had a wonderful time out there
PaulWallGetMST: It was a willlld experience
CannonInMusic: What would you say you took from it?
PaulWallGetMST: I had never seen anything like that before
PaulWallGetMST: It made me prioritize my life and reminded me what was important
CannonInMusic: In what ways? like if you were to give me 2 examples
PaulWallGetMST: my son had just been born when I went out there, he was about 6 weeks old. So seeing the children suffer out there was difficult for me
PaulWallGetMST: And I come from a very rough part of Houston. But even homeless people live like kings compared to the people out there
PaulWallGetMST: There is NO opportunity out there for people who want to better themselves
PaulWallGetMST: In America we take soooooo much for granted]
PaulWallGetMST: but the people out there have NO opportunity
PaulWallGetMST: no electricity
PaulWallGetMST: no running water
CannonInMusic: Yeah man, we definitely have a lot of luxury compared to a lot of parts of the world
PaulWallGetMST: it was embarrassing to see people live like that, coming from the US.
CannonInMusic: Has it inspired you to make music in a different sort of way? or join or start a foundation/organization?
PaulWallGetMST: My people are over there right now again on another trip researching hospitals and other ways we can donate
PaulWallGetMST: we started a foundation for the people of sierra leone
PaulWallGetMST: You can buy an electrical generator for as little as $300 and that would change a village forever
CannonInMusic: I respect that homie
Cannon is now even more inspired to give back to his community. First up...free 'how to rock any hat and still look fly' tutorials for everyone!
