MandyWildHope: hello. thanks for having me

KimInMusic: i hear you live with your brother out there?
MandyWildHope: yes, both of my brothers live with me
KimInMusic: both?! that's great - they must help keep things safe, fun
KimInMusic: what's the best part of living with your siblings?
MandyWildHope: having someone to come home to that i love....
MandyWildHope: i'm in my kitchen eating strawberries :)
KimInMusic: oh fun! i'm like really bummed now that i'm not eating strawberries :(
MandyWildHope: ha
KimInMusic: so, first things first...how's your ankle?
KimInMusic: you showed up in our weekly popscene photo gallery before the nickelodeon awards a few weeks ago wearing a leg brace
MandyWildHope: i just got home from the doctor and it's healing well.
KimInMusic: great news!
MandyWildHope: thanks, yes
KimInMusic: must have been interesting considering how busy you've been lately
KimInMusic: your new movie 'because I said so' is out and you have a new album on the way!
KimInMusic: tell us a little bit about 'wild hope'?
MandyWildHope: it's a bit of a departure for me. i'm excited/proud because i've co-written the whole thing, and it's more of a relfection of me and the music i'm influenced by...
KimInMusic: we got a sneak peek here and it's so easy, breezy, folky...really pretty stuff
MandyWildHope: pretty folky-pop
KimInMusic: jinx!
MandyWildHope: :)
KimInMusic: i understand that you recorded it in Woodstock, NY in a house that was...haunted?
MandyWildHope: yes
KimInMusic: didn't that freak you out? i mean, it's the perfect place to get your folk music on, but I would've been paralyzed with fear
MandyWildHope: the ghost didn't like me doing my laundry and she would throw it on the floor whenever i left it out to dry....
MandyWildHope: it wasn't too bad
KimInMusic: lol
MandyWildHope: we werre there around halloween (one of my favorite holidays), so we embraced our new friends.
KimInMusic: that rules!
MandyWildHope: yep
KimInMusic: did you have a name for her?
KimInMusic: please tell me it was zelda or something?
MandyWildHope: i didn't catch her name
KimInMusic: ha ok ...
KimInMusic: so, speaking of fear ... i read somewhere that you're afraid of sharks?
KimInMusic: true or false?
MandyWildHope: terrified
KimInMusic: ME TOO!
KimInMusic: i can't even swim in the ocean
MandyWildHope: although i'd love to swim with sharks one day
MandyWildHope: i can swim if i can see the bottom
KimInMusic: that's a good rule of thumb
KimInMusic: so, confession time...
KimInMusic: i wanted to get my hair cut short and i totally google-stalked you to find the cut i wanted
KimInMusic: i'm mildly obsessed ... not in a shrine-and-candles sort of way, don't worry
MandyWildHope: really?
KimInMusic: you always have the best short hair cuts!
MandyWildHope: i love short hair
MandyWildHope: i always toy with cutting mine again, and then remember how miserable i was with it...the second go 'round, i looked like a boy i think ?
KimInMusic: no - always adorable!
KimInMusic: so besides having great hair - you are also super classy
MandyWildHope: well thank you
KimInMusic: how do you think you pull off the hot thing without showing so much skin like...um...some pop stars out there :-)
MandyWildHope: i'm not a fan of that look for myself
KimInMusic: you're also never photographed out all night, wasted, hanging with k-fed and paris, etc.
KimInMusic: how do you keep it all together?
MandyWildHope: i'd rather stay home and hang with my friends/family than go out. honestly, i go to bed early and can't be bothered to get all done up to go out after a long day of work.
KimInMusic: gotcha ... any favorite staying-in stuff you like to do? movies? tv shows?
MandyWildHope: i'm obsessed with 30 rock, reno 911 and the daily show. Also, 60 minutes is my sunday night staple :)
KimInMusic: nice! i really love 30 rock too ... so amazingly funny
MandyWildHope: they picked up for next season!
KimInMusic: yay!
MandyWildHope: yes
KimInMusic: you mentioned last year that your previous albums (before 'wild hope') were...well, "bad"
MandyWildHope: well not ?coverage'...but yes
KimInMusic: what about your previous music are you dissatisfied with?
MandyWildHope: not being involved creatively
MandyWildHope: i'm just being honest...i'm not a fan of the songs, production, etc...with a few exceptions.
KimInMusic: i dig honesty -- so what are you a fan of and listening to these days?
MandyWildHope: i'm digging the bird and the bee, brett dennen, patty griffin and greg laswell.
KimInMusic: awesome ... I've been hearing a lot about the bird and the bee lately ... anything we might be surprised by that you're into? are you a secret gwar fan?:)
MandyWildHope: rob zombie
KimInMusic: hot! are you a fan of his horror movies?
MandyWildHope: jk
KimInMusic: oh ... hahhaa -- you totally had me!
MandyWildHope: haven't seen his horror films
KimInMusic: so do you go to concerts often?
MandyWildHope: i try to...but not as often as i'd like to
KimInMusic: anything you've seen lately or have a favorite concert of all time?
MandyWildHope: yikes...not really but im only 23, so perhaps i have plenty of time to answer that
KimInMusic: definitely...
KimInMusic: what was it like being a character on ?the simpsons'
KimInMusic: *restrains jealousy*
MandyWildHope: it was GREAT! i'm a huge fan but i must say i was a bit intimidated...
KimInMusic: in general or by people in particular?
MandyWildHope: both
MandyWildHope: i felt honored to be a part of such a piece of pop culture :)
KimInMusic: totally ... but i have to say that my favorite role of yours was in 'saved!'
KimInMusic: you were INCREDIBLE...was it fun being able to play the bad girl?
MandyWildHope: thanks! it's always the most fun
MandyWildHope: i'm proud of that movie everyone was really wonderful in it
KimInMusic: agree on all fronts
KimInMusic: what's up for the summer?
MandyWildHope: 'wild hope' on june 19th and then 'license to wed' on july 4th
MandyWildHope: so lots of travelling :)
KimInMusic: and you're touring too?
MandyWildHope: perhaps this fall
MandyWildHope: i'm hoping
KimInMusic: and you're newly single!
KimInMusic: maybe some summer love?
MandyWildHope: maybe not
KimInMusic: lol
KimInMusic: ok, summer of music, movies and chilling with your brothers?
