Lupe Fiasco Interview Part 3
Go back to part 2
DonyaInMusic: That sure does open it up to a lot of women.
LupeFoodnLiquor: well that seems pretty "limiting" of you to think that being "attractive" only entails how u look
LupeFoodnLiquor: wow!!! some people
DonyaInMusic: ha ha
DonyaInMusic: I guess I'm the shallow one then, huh? :(
DonyaInMusic: ok, moving on...
LupeFoodnLiquor: hahaha
DonyaInMusic: You've said that you didn't like some rappers' tendency to degrade women in their lyrics.
DonyaInMusic: How do you feel about the whole Oprah vs hip-hop controversy?
LupeFoodnLiquor: well...
LupeFoodnLiquor: truly i don't feel anything at all
LupeFoodnLiquor: they both have points
DonyaInMusic: true
DonyaInMusic: Ok, you have your own record label in addition to being an artist
DonyaInMusic: what can we expect from music on your label?
LupeFoodnLiquor: well I'll let my artist tell u what they want to say...it will be quality though
DonyaInMusic: who will be the first project you release?
LupeFoodnLiquor: Gemini...he's an MC and he sings...
LupeFoodnLiquor: then we have Risque, which is a female R&B trio...they dope
DonyaInMusic: ok, cool. We'll be on the lookout for them
DonyaInMusic: I also read that your production company did songs for TLC and Boyz II Men...which songs and did you do any of the producing yourself?
LupeFoodnLiquor: they were remixes that never came out...but we did "Hip-Hop Star" with Beyonce and "What More Can I Say" for Jay-Z
LupeFoodnLiquor: I don't produce but I know what I want to hear and I express that to producers
DonyaInMusic: I love both of those songs. hot!
DonyaInMusic: Alright Mr. Fiasco, thanks so much for talking with us today
LupeFoodnLiquor: twas a pleasure
DonyaInMusic: got any shout-outs before we go?
LupeFoodnLiquor: shouts to my momma!!!!...chuuuuch!
DonyaInMusic: lol. peace
Donya's sneaker collection is nowhere near Lupe's, but she does have a soft spot for brightly-colored -- and comfortable -- kicks. Sorry, Carrie. These New York streets are too hard on the feet for Manolos everyday.
