KimInMusic: i hear you're in Spain right now, what's the best thing about being there?
DoYouKnowEnrique: yes its gorgeous out here
DoYouKnowEnrique: best thing is seeing family, but the beaches are great as well
KimInMusic: where in Spain do you stay?
DoYouKnowEnrique: all over, i'm shooting a show in Mallorca in a couple days actually
DoYouKnowEnrique: Wetten Dass, its a huge German TV show
KimInMusic: what does that mean? haha
DoYouKnowEnrique: good question!

KimInMusic: so i have to admit that i'm slightly psyched that this interview is over instant messenger -- your dreaminess is very intimidating :-)
DoYouKnowEnrique: I'm not very intimidating, trust me
KimInMusic: ok, awesome ... but let's just stay on that ... what do you think makes you sexy?
DoYouKnowEnrique: ha, what makes you sexy?
KimInMusic: me? if i answer will you?

KimInMusic: maybe the fact that i'm always in a good mood and i like to wear white tank tops?

DoYouKnowEnrique: do u also like to drink beer and listen to your ipod?
KimInMusic: lol how did you EVER guess :-)

KimInMusic: so ... why do you think you are? cause you really, really are
DoYouKnowEnrique: i guess what makes me sexy is that girls like you say I am. i don't see myself as sexy
KimInMusic: ooooooook, but guys think you're smokin' too
DoYouKnowEnrique: yes some do
KimInMusic: recently in london you performed at g-a-y club, which made the news. tell us a little about that?
DoYouKnowEnrique: it was really fun. I wanted to do something for that part of my fans, and it turned out to be a great show
KimInMusic: looked like everyone enjoyed themselves -- especially the guy you serenaded with 'hero'
KimInMusic: he must have been PSYCHED!
DoYouKnowEnrique: u got to be nervous getting onstage in front of a crowd that hyped. I asked the crowd if I shuold sing to a guy instead of a girl, cos i sometimes bring a female fan onstage for Hero. suprisingly the crowd insisted on a guy!
KimInMusic: you rule...do you have any celeb man-crushes? i'm straight too, but Jennifer Connoly is too beautiful not to crush on ...
DoYouKnowEnrique: can't say I do
KimInMusic: fair enough
KimInMusic: so tell me a little about the title of the album 'insomniac'
DoYouKnowEnrique: It's about how I don't sleep!! IF I do sleep it's usually super late. that was my schedule for doing the album, but i've always been like that. work late, sleep late. it just kind of described my experience making the record
KimInMusic: any weird late-night habits?
KimInMusic: i wake up and eat ice cream a lot
DoYouKnowEnrique: i'm not much of a morning ice cream eater, but sometimes u crave weird stuff.
KimInMusic: ha ok :-)
KimInMusic: 'don't you know' is a HOT track ... reminds me of the stuff you did on 'escape' ... why ping pong balls?
DoYouKnowEnrique: wait! It's 'do you know'
KimInMusic: omg sorry! duh! (obviously i know ... )
DoYouKnowEnrique: haha...the ping pong sound we just thought worked with the beat and it gave the song a unique sound
KimInMusic: i think it works too
KimInMusic: you get really touchy feely with the girls that star in your music videos -- Jenny Love, Anna and most recently the woman in your video for DO YOU KNOW (see, got it right ;-))
KimInMusic: a) do you have a big hand in the concept of the videos? and b) can i get in on this? :-)
DoYouKnowEnrique: a) yes b) no
KimInMusic: :-(
DoYouKnowEnrique: hahaa ... just kidding. I always am very involved with making videos and concepts, directors, etc. The visual part of pairing a song with a video is a big part of the overall vision. It can make a difference between a song being a hit or not.
KimInMusic: that's cool to be so involved. i respect that.
DoYouKnowEnrique: and I'll make sure you are at the casting call for the next video
KimInMusic: no, no you're probably right - i wouldn't work out. (but you're sweet) ... it leads me to my next (i have to ask) question -- you and anna -- still on, right?
DoYouKnowEnrique: yes
KimInMusic: she is so, sooooo pretty ... i read somewhere that 'miss you' is about her?
DoYouKnowEnrique: WHERE DID U READ THAT!!!!?!??!! I'm firing my publicist! just kidding

KimInMusic: any cool stories about working with Robert Rodriguez?
DoYouKnowEnrique: just a great guy. super talented. the set was always fun, but any stories will remain secrets

KimInMusic: why did you choose to cover a ringside track on the new album -- it's so indie rock of you :-)
DoYouKnowEnrique: I just really liked that song, and after meeting w/ Mr. Scott Thomas from Ringside he was into me doing it, so we went for it. u like it?
KimInMusic: yeah, i checked out the original and watched the video too ... Dermot Mulroney is in it! crazy ... i think it's cool that you included it on the album
KimInMusic: what are you listening to these days that would surprise people?
DoYouKnowEnrique: hmmm, that would surprise people... Beck, Interpol
KimInMusic: YES! Interpol is my favorite band
KimInMusic: that sort of just made my day
DoYouKnowEnrique: that was easy
KimInMusic: ha ... doesn't take much i guess:-)
KimInMusic: you've collaborated with Kelis, Lil Wayne ... anyone you want to collaborate with in the future?
DoYouKnowEnrique: songs with Gnarls Barkley, Barry Manilow and Interpol...just for you
KimInMusic: i so heart you! you've found success crossing over languages, why not genres?!
KimInMusic: lastly, you're performing at Live Earth -- important stuff ... do you consider yourself "green"?
DoYouKnowEnrique: no, i'm Spanish
KimInMusic: lol i don't mean like... kermit the frog!
DoYouKnowEnrique: i know!!

DoYouKnowEnrique: I wouldn't consider myself quite green yet, but I'm getting there. Doing events like Live Earth that raise awareness for the issue of global warming is something that is necessary and important right now. I watched inconvenient truth recently and it was really eye opening
