Chris Daughtry Interview Part 1
TyeInMusic: hi Chris!
DaughtryRockIdol: Hi Tye
TyeInMusic: thanks for taking the time to chat with us today
DaughtryRockIdol: no prob. glad to be here
TyeInMusic: where are you at right now?
DaughtryRockIdol: in LA finishing the album and rehearsing with the band
TyeInMusic: nice. how's that going?
DaughtryRockIdol: going great. just getting ready for the 1st gig at the viper room tonight
DaughtryRockIdol: everybody's excited
TyeInMusic: oh wow. that's a great place to cut your teeth
DaughtryRockIdol: yeah we're pretty honored to play such a legendary place for our 1st gig
DaughtryRockIdol: hopefully we will live up to some of the other great artist that have played there
TyeInMusic: playing live with a new band for the first time has to be a little stressful
TyeInMusic: are you nervous at all?
DaughtryRockIdol: not nervous about the band. they are all great players and have been doing it for a long time
DaughtryRockIdol: but you can?t help but to be a little nervous when you are testing out new material
DaughtryRockIdol: i just hope and pray all goes well
TyeInMusic: i'm sure you'll rock it, dude. no problem ;)
DaughtryRockIdol: thank you very much
TyeInMusic: so, the album is almost done?
DaughtryRockIdol: almost finished the vocals, and then it's ready to be mixed and mastered
TyeInMusic: what can we expect?
DaughtryRockIdol: a collaboration of my writing along with some great songwriters
DaughtryRockIdol: got some heavy stuff, some mellow stuff
TyeInMusic: on the show, Simon Cowell would always say that you had to go more pop, try different sounds, etc.
TyeInMusic: did that advice affect how you approached the album?
TyeInMusic: or did it go in one ear, out the other?
Did Chris listen to Simon? Read on.
