AshleyParqrAnjel: yeah 8-) If he's fussy or upset and I play him a song on the piano he immediately chills out and pays attention... In fact we bring my ipod on trips w/ him cuz theres one particular song on my album called 'Apology' that works every time!
melissainmusic: awesome! on that note, let's talk about your album...
AshleyParqrAnjel: cool
melissainmusic: what made you change to a more rock-oriented sound?
AshleyParqrAnjel: Its the kind of music I've always gravitated to... growing up I listened to more rock than any other genre
melissainmusic: so it's more the true Ashley sound than what you've done in the past?
AshleyParqrAnjel: Well, O-TOWN was an amazing foot in the door and an unbelievable opportunity at a very young age but I didn't really get a chance to songwrite for the group until our 2nd album and even those songs reflect the transition to a more live band-driven sound. On my solo record I was able to songwrite on everything which I'm really happy about
melissainmusic: i'm sure it has to be a great feeling to have creative control this time around
melissainmusic: what's your favorite song on the album?
AshleyParqrAnjel: It changes frequently but right now its a song called 'Feel So Alive'
melissainmusic: why that one?
AshleyParqrAnjel: I wrote it at a time when I was going through a lot of change in my life and while sometimes that can seem scary those moments make you feel full of life
melissainmusic: you had a scary moment recently when you cut your hand on 'celebrity cooking showdown.' are you alright? :D
AshleyParqrAnjel: it's healed but because I cut through a nerve I've lost a lot of feeling in that finger :-(
melissainmusic: wow - is it impacting your playing at all?
AshleyParqrAnjel: yeah I've been slowly trying to work it back into shape but I haven't been using it to play guitar or piano
melissainmusic: well hopefully it's all better for touring. are you enjoying being back out on the road?
AshleyParqrAnjel: SO MUCH!! I love being onstage
melissainmusic: are the fans just as crazy this time around?
melissainmusic: crazy in a good way, of course :)
AshleyParqrAnjel: The fans have gotten better cause I feel like there's even more of them:-)
melissainmusic: it's cool when your fans let you change up your style and still stay along for the ride
melissainmusic: do you know if you'll be doing another season of your tv show yet?
