Hangovers offers a significant departure from previous Violent Green efforts, heralded by the introduction of keyboard loops and hip-hop beats; though the group remains steeped in an indie-punk aesthetic, their move into electronics is handled deftly, boding well for the group's future. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide
From Cycles of Heat attempts some potentionally interesting combinations of sounds, using pseudo-hip-hop beats, standard indie guitar work, some vaguely Eastern drones, and emotional vocals with a steam-of-consciousness feel. Unfortunately, these elements are never connected quite strongly enough, making some tracks feel like mismatched compositions rather than seamless recontextualization. When things work, they're deserving of some praise -- all too often, however, they falter. ~ Nitsuh Abebe, All Music Guide
