Timo Perez Signs With Phillies

Matt Gelb of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports (Twitter link) that Philadelphia has signed Timo Perez to a minor-league contract and assigned the outfielder to Double-A. The outfielder hasn't played in the majors since 2007, but he has been toiling in the independent leagues, Mexican League and (this season) for the Dodgers' Triple-A franchise, posting a .762 OPS in 123 plate appearances for Albuquerque.
