happy sunday morning! one of my favortist bands on the planet, the tragically hip, have a new record coming out shortly entitled now for plan a. been listening to it quite a bit lately, and its probably my favorite hip record since in between evolution which was released in 04, i believe. me thinks i was about 13 when i first heard rem's document – their 5th record, but my memory is fuzzy. i do remember thinking through the first songs, i dont get it? then when i hit "its the end of the world," and "the one i love" something clicked in my little brain. howdy! one of my favorite records from last year mount moriah's self title debut was re-released via merge yesterday. in fact it came in at number 6 last year, and still listen to it quite often.

Amazon Yesterday was a pretty busy one as far as festival announcements went – the first acts for this year's Pitchfork Festival , happening July 13 to 15 in Chicago's Union Park, were revealed; Sled Island made a pretty compelling argument for visiting Calgary from June 20 to 23; and though an official announcement is still a little ways off, the fact that Florence & The Machine , The Walkmen , tUnE-yArDs , Black Keys and The Shins will all be passing through during the August long weekend gives you a good notion of who Osheaga will be bringing to Montreal.

hello from chicago, my homeland! everything looks pretty much the same, only i am different. its kinda weird what happens when you come back to your hometown after an extended absence. it feels the same, almost like ive never left, but i question if i even belong here anymore? i would move back, but i almost feel like im meant to be elsewhere. anyway, ive probably had too many beers to be getting too personal on the subject. what i got here is some circa 87 tragically hip demos. a tape showed up on ebay a while back which im sure sold for an ungodly amount, but this is that tape. they're a bit rough in some spots, mostly due to tape hiss, but if youre a hip fan its cool to hear these songs in some very early stages.
