The Sea Navy Biography

the-sea-navy

Indie rock band the Sea Navy was founded by ex-Ivory Coast singer/guitarist Jay Cox. The idea for the Sea Navy was at first a side project for Cox in Boston. He left Boston for Seattle, but not before recording the first album, Breathing in the Old World. Using pre-recorded drum tracks, Cox made his debut as the Sea Navy, opening a show in February 2005 for Ted Leo & the Pharmacists. He soon recruited drummer Andrew Rudd of Aqueduct and bassist/keyboardist T.W. Walsh of Pedro the Lion. In October 2006 the Sea Navy released Oh These Troubled Times through Luckyhorse Industries. As of early 2007, the lineup included Cox, bassist Stuart Fletcher (ex-Sorts and Sea Tiger), and drummer Jordan Cumming. ~ Kenyon Hopkin, Rovi
