The Ruling Class' swirly, psychedelia-tinged indie pop nods to a number of influences, chief among them the Stone Roses, Supergrass, and the Field Mice. The group formed in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2005 as a collaboration between guitarist Tomas Kubowicz and bassist Anton Lindberg. The pair moved to London the following year, where they hooked up with drummer Alfonso Tammaro and producer Mark Wallis, who helped the band record its debut EP/7" release on Shelf Life, 2008's Tour de Force. The Ruling Class welcomed vocalist Jonathan Sutcliffe into the fold in December 2007, after their debut was recorded, and got straight to work on another single. The Flowers/If You Wonder 7" was released on Fandango in the summer of 2008. ~ Margaret Reges, Rovi
