What The Critics Say

After a three-year hiatus, French Canadian band the Kry returned to Christian music with its 2002 studio release, Undone. The project marks the group's first album on Metro 1 Music, as well as the introduction of two new members, Danny Donnelly and David Roy. Headed by founding members Jean-Luc and Yves Lajoie, the Kry presents listeners with acoustic rock. Songs include "Only the Love of God," "Beautiful," and "Spark Up the Flame." ~ Ashleigh Kittle, All Music Guide

What The Critics Say

What About Now has its good moments. The music is generally strong, hedging the line between alternative and hard rock music. The melodies are often catchy, although sometimes there is too much movement within the songs, as if the writers couldn't make up their minds whether to make it a ballad or something upbeat. The Kry's purpose is to present a message, and that is what they do, particularly in songs like "I Believe." The lyrics are extremely straightforward and stick to the gospel, rarely, if ever, swaying from presenting it. "By the River" has a nice old-time gospel feel and is one of the more creative tracks on the album. "Down at the Cross" is simple instrumentally and lyrically, which adds up to the high point of the album. What About Now does what it needs to do, and very little more. ~ Melinda Hill, All Music Guide

What The Critics Say

In 1995, Freedom Records re-released the Kry's debut album, I'll Find You There. The project, featuring the talents of bandmembers Jean Luc Lajoie, Pete Nelson, and Yves Lajoie, is more rock-oriented then its follow-up release, You. Songs include "Blind Man (Show Me the Way" and "Free." ~ Ashleigh Kittle, All Music Guide

What The Critics Say

The Kry's strength is in their melodies. Their lyrics tend to be a little weak, and this album is no exception. By the end even the melodies start to sound a bit repetitive, but it's still worth a listen. Despite its occasional weaknesses, this album has some of The Kry's strongest lyrical work and a freshness to it lacking in later releases. They look for creative ways to express their passion -- God -- and it really shows on this release. High points on the album include the peppy, fun "I Can't Stop Thinking About You," the eerie, resonant track "Jesus Is Coming Soon," and "Take My Hand," an encouraging, sweet, strong number. This album is The Kry at their best -- both straightforward in their message and creative in their songwriting. ~ Melinda Hill, All Music Guide
