Grosse Pointe, Michigan-based folk-rockers the Four of Us are best remembered today as a launching pad for future Eagle Glenn Frey. Ironically, the group's recorded output predates Frey's arrival to their ranks -- debuting circa 1965 with a cover of Bob Dylan's "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue" featured on a sampler LP spotlighting the local teen club the Hideout, the Four of Us subsequently issued a pair of singles, "You're Gonna Be Mine" and a rendition of the Byrds' "Feel a Whole Lot Better." Frey joined soon after, and his tenure with the band proved short-lived, as he soon formed a new unit dubbed the Subterraneans; other information on the Four of Us remains scarce. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide
