Review of Lightships’ Electric Cables

2010′s Shadows was just their third effort in the 21st century, assuming you count 2000 as part of this millenium – is that despite having three superb songwriters in their ranks, they just work very, very slowly; if this is true, then clearly bassist Gerard Love isn't the limiting factor.

top of the evening! hope everyone had just the most loveliest of weeks. shit, i know i did! or maybe not really, or it was fine, or just there. i havent decided. i did learn today that i have a sinus infection and a deviated septum. yay for genetics! dont think i have brought this up, but i have not been able to hear for the past month. well, i can hear, but its very muffled. so, being the proactive person i am, i went out and spent about 30 bucks on shit that would, if worked as advertised, unclog my ears. well, as it turns out after visiting the ent, ear, nose and throat, doc today, my ears are not clogged at all. in fact they are all clear. its the sinus infection that is causing them to be the way they are. son of a bitch! i have wasted money on a lot of stupid shit in my day, but i hate that i actually was trying to waste my money on something good and it was all for nothing. now, i have to take steroids, some nasal spray and antibiotics for ten days. no drinking for me. again, son of a bitch! oh, and the kicker of all this is that its these damn cats thats inflicting most of this. the cats that i cant stand to begin with. i know ya'll dont care about my ailments but figured i would throw it out there for my own therapeutic reasons. anyway, like the headline says this here is teenage fanclub's black session which was recorded in paris on 11.16.93.

full disclosure. my family and i are in a really bad place, financially, probably like most of america. we are not special, i understand this. ive had to sell off my camera, which i loved dearly, my wife's bike, etc just to try and pay bills. so for the next few months i am gonna have to depend on the generosity of strangers to help foot some of the 80 dollar a month bill, meaning hopefully some of you, to help this joint stay open. you dont owe me anything, another thing i understand but any consideration in donating would be greatly appreciated. all donations will go directly back into the site and not to buy me cigarettes, in case you were wondering.

It has become de rigueur with young up and coming bands to name drop Scottish indie legends Teenage Fanclub , and NME favourites Yuck have gone as far as taking their template and reselling it to the 21st century indie masses.

good saturday evening to you all. most of my day has been spent either a. sleeping or b. playing just cause 2, which is a pretty cool game but the controls are a little wonky. just got done playing crysis 2, which was pretty damn awesome, imo. yes, i play video games. little known fact about yours truly. teenage fanclub is one band that i have never gotten the pleasure of seeing live, and is def in my top 5 bands that i need to see live, someday, hopefully. although, as i am typing this i feel like i may have back in the early 90s at the metro in chicago. i dont think i have, but again something is telling me i have. anyone else go through this kinda shit? its hell getting old… you can buy this via amazon for either a penny, used, or 80 bucks new. if you do buy it, it is packaged with a frank black peel session. so it may be worth it, at least for the penny. *edit: that peel session i linked to via amazon is actually frank black w/ teenage fanclub, which could be pretty awesome.

FORMED IN GLASGOW as the '80s waned, Teenage Fanclub had the confusing distinction of being anointed "the best band in the world" by Kurt Cobain and then, years later, "the second best band in the world" by Oasis' Noel Gallagher.
