What The Critics Say

Follow the Star contains 13 traditional songs of the holiday season based on personal favorites of Bishop T.D. Jakes. Alongside three tracks by Jakes -- "From Our House, to Your House," "Away in a Manger" (with Angie Winans), and "Follow the Star" (with Dorinda Clark-Cole) -- are beautiful versions of "The First Noel" (Aaron Neville) and "Born in Bethlehem" (Blind Boys of Alabama and Mavis Staples). This is a recommended disc especially for those seeking reflective moments during the busy holiday season. ~ Al Campbell, All Music Guide

Woman Thou Art Loosed: Worship 2002 - Run to the Water...The River Within

What The Critics Say

Over 70,000 women filed into New Orleans' Superdome in August of 2001 at attend Bishop T.D. Jakes' Woman Thou Art Loosed conference. The conference climaxed with this recording, featuring a collection of nicely arranged and produced praise & worship music. Included on this recording are urban-flavored arrangements of popular songs of worship such as "Your Majesty," "Be Glorified," "Blessing, Glory and Honor," and the popular hymn "Amazing Grace." For this project, Jakes pulled in some of the country's top worship leaders and recording artists, namely Darwin Hobbs, Steve Lawrence, Shirley Murdock, LeJuene Thompson, and Judith McAllister. Along with the sermonettes that he adds between songs, Jakes displays his vocal abilities on the project's closing song, the popular hymn "Amazing Grace." ~ Tim Smith, All Music Guide

What The Critics Say

T.D. Jakes & the Potter's House Mass Choir returned in 2001 with The Storm Is Over, which was released in conjunction with a videocassette of the same name documenting the choir's performance (the two are sold separately). Jakes and the choir are as joyous and celebratory as ever, alternating between sweeping, majestic numbers and funked-up dance tracks. The impassioned, uplifting performances make this a worthy addition to Jakes' discography. ~ Steve Huey, All Music Guide

What The Critics Say

Bishop T.D. Jakes' inspirational, influential vision of love and faith returns with Sacred Love Songs. The musical counterpart to his bestselling book The Lady, Her Lover & Lord, the album deals with the problems of love and provides spiritual solutions. Sacred Love Songs' soulful, relevant gospel is based on the Bible's Songs of Solomon, some of the most poetic and romantic texts ever written. As healing as it is entertaining, Sacred Love Songs encourages men and women to love each other in God's way with heartfelt musical messages. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
