top of the day! it is st patty's day after all, but then again i say top of whatever pretty much every day. anyway, now that couch by couchwest is over i can sort of get back into this here joint. although i may take a few days off cause that was pretty damn tiring. think probably ended up with more than 500 submissions, but i dont know that for sure. next year, its intern time! going to repost this super chunk show from the whisky that took place back in 92 when they were opening for hole. the flyer is not the actual show flyer, just time period. buy superchunk stuff via merge.

"The DeLuna Stage was set up on the beach, facing away from the Pensacola pier that stretches into the Gulf of Mexico. On the opposite side of the beach looking back was actually the Heritage Stage, a stage filled with the sounds of New Orleans jazz music. The quarters weren't as sprawling as Hangout [Festival in Alabama], but the Windcreek Stage location, in the adjacent parking lot, made for a much easier human traffic flow between the two primary stages. That concrete often kept the festival from feeling like it was intended, but its proximity also kept fans from missing anything from the weekend's largest acts. Then, the setup allowed for unrestricted access to the ocean. So, you give and you take.

well, looks like i, and probably most of you, missed the boat on this one. superchunk released a limited edition, 350 copies – via the merge store, 7″ yesterday for the song "this summer" with the b-side being a cover of bananarama's "cruel summer." you still may be able to find the 7″ at your local shop, but im guessing its going to be slim pickins. either way you can still grab the download via the merge site for 1.98 for mp3 or flac for 2.49.
