Equilateral is one of Iowa"s best jazz bands, with members including Chris Merz (saxes), Brent Sandy (trumpet), Greg Mazunik (bass) and Eric Thompson (drums). Merz and Sandy have worked together extensively since 2000, when Merz returned to Iowa to take a teaching position at the University of Northern Iowa. The current lineup came together in the fall of 2008, upon Sandy"s return from a stint in Corfu, Greece. Mazunik has freelanced around the Iowa City area for the past 10 years.
