A talented songwriter and producer, Steve Alaimo was a Founding Father whose 1960′s records bridged the gap between country and R&B. His first band was the Redcoats, an instrumental outfit that scored a regional hit in 1959 on Henry Stone's Marlin imprint with "I Want You to Love Me." When the Redcoats disbanded in 1960 Alaimo pointed his career toward R&B, turning out a pair of solid but largely unnoticed albums. Read More
