Right out of the Sawyer Brown playbook comes Sixwire, five session and road pros based in Nashville whose collective sound is seamless, spirited, and predictable. Their vocal harmonies are right on the button, their rhythms conform to convention, and their songs reflect all the attributes of commercial country. You could, for example, hear the final unaccompanied vocal hook on "Way Too Deep" coming all the way from the beginning of the song. The closest they come to any sense of dimension in the lyrics is on "Jack," whose protagonist is a minivan-drivin' family guy who makes appointments with prostitutes.
