For those who have observed the hugely successful but perennially chaotic career of 90s grunge heavyweights Stone Temple Pilots over the years, there is a certain delicious irony in the band's decision to recruit Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington as a replacement for recently sacked vocalist Scott Weiland.
