Over 100 instruments to be sold for the late rocker's charity

More than 100 guitars signed by musicians including Eddie Van Halen , Tom Morello, Slash, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi , Iron Maiden , Taylor Swift and the Jonas Brothers will be auctioned on December 1st to benefit the Dio Cancer Fund, a charity established in remembrance of Ronnie James Dio, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Anthrax recently recorded a handful of covers for reasons unknown (could be for like an EP or whatever, could be for what we still call "B-sides" even though there probably hasn't been a literal "side B" in close to twenty years, etc.). And they played one of those covers, of Sabbath's Dio-era classic "Neon Knights," at the recent Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards, which are not to be confused with Revolver Golden Gods Awards, or the Jim Martin Golden Gourds Awards.

Rainbow’s final album with Ronnie James Dio to be reissued as picture disc for Record Store Day

Rainbow's 1978 project Long Live Rock 'n' Roll, the last to feature frontman Ronnie James Dio, will be reissued on April 21 by Niji Entertainment Group in celebration of Record Store Day. Long Live Rock 'n' Roll, composed almost entirely by Dio and Ritchie Blackmore, includes a number of fan favorites, including the anthematic title track, Dio favorite "Gates of Babylon," "Kill the King" (which has already become a concert staple) and the album-closing ballad "Rainbow Eyes." It rose to No. 89 on the Billboard pop album charts.
