Real Live Biography

Preferring the roles of hip-hop insiders rather than recording artists, DJ/producer K-Def and vocalist Larry O kept a low profile in the game for a number of years. K-Def lent production work to artists such as Da Youngstas while Larry O honed his microphone skills at open mics and freestyle competitions throughout New York and New Jersey. In 1996, having paid their dues and made a name for themselves in the business, the duo decided to release an album aptly titled, The Turnaround: Long Awaited Drama under the moniker Real Live. The duo's complementary styles were applauded by fans and critics alike but without much ballyhoo the duo faded into the fog soon after their album ran its course. ~ Michael Di Bella, All Music Guide
