Radio Sweethearts' debut album New Memories is a fine slice of alternative country-rock, indebted to both Gram Parsons and Neil Young yet not slavishly replicating the sounds of their influences. The group also digs a little deeper than those founding fathers, coming up with sounds that recall old-time string bands and bluegrass. But the real key to the success of New Memories is the songwriting of Frank Macdonald and John Miller, who both write remarkably effective and affecting songs that sound both contemporary and timeless. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
