Pete & J are Brooklyn, NY-based duo Pete Harper (vocals, guitar, piano and keys) Jason Blynn (vocals and guitar), who began playing together in college, with a sometimes-rhythm section of Sarab Singh (vocals, drums and percussion-he has been playing with Blynn off and on since they were both 11-years-old) and Whynot (vocals and bass). The result is an infectious mix of often acoustic-based power pop-tinged 21st century love songs with just a touch of folky country thrown in and all sung with gorgeous vocal harmonies. The Harper and Blynn duo self-released the album Without a Band in 2005, with the more elaborate and definitely radio-ready Dressed for Conversation appearing in 2006, followed by the EP Plenty Good Reasons, all of which received praise and positioned Pete & J near the top of the next-indie-pop-band-to-break-nationally sweepstakes. ~ Steve Leggett, All Music Guide
