Diatta is a guitarist who sings backup vocals for Mane, his wife. He was raised in an orphanage and twice attempted to build his own guitar after becoming interested in music. He was eventually given one. After serving in the Army, he decided to develop his talent and came up with his own unique style of guitar playing. When he married Mane, the two became a duo, playing on radio and in ceremonies around the country. He was reluctant to record until 1989 because he had been swindled out of proper payment by a record company, but he did, and eventually wound up touring the U.K. ~ Steve Huey, Rovi
