Since 1992, Muse has worked to make a name for themselves in the northeast U.S., performing throughout western New York and southern Ontario. Leah Pinnavaia and her brother, Joe, had been writing songs together since the late '80s and when they teamed up with bassist Jim Wynne and manic drummer Kirk Beers in 1993, Muse the band had officially arrived. The band honed its musical identity at The Performing Arts Theatre along Lake Erie in New York, releasing their initial self-titled debut in 1994 on cassette, followed by Symbiotica in 1996 and Garden in 1998. Showbiz followed in 1999. Appears on CMJ's Certain Damage (1998) compilation, The Buffalo Music Collective's Music from Here Vol. 1 & 2 (1997-98), No Moss Siberia Records (1995).
