In addition to the ballads that one expects from Philippine singer Martin Nievera, there is also plenty of flash and showbiz glitter on his 1987 album, Miracle. The four upbeat numbers -- "I Don't Need to Say I Love You," "Airborne," "It's You I'll Be Missing," and "One Heart" -- are showy affairs, and may sound too superficial for some listeners' taste. Still, the songs are expertly done, and the beat can be contagious. The bouncy "Airborne," for example, contains a bit of funk, and it's not stretching things to say it's comparable to something Earth, Wind & Fire might do. This song is tailor-made for a concert setting, and in fact, Martin Nievera also released a concert album called Airborne Live in 1987. As always, Martin Nievera, who possesses a strong, versatile voice, applies a sincere gloss to the ballads, and "Till the End" exemplifies this sound, his voice exuding depth and passion on a nicely written tune; the song was composed by local songwriter Dodjie Simon. ~ David Gonzales, All Music Guide
