Lisa Meri, a talented vocalist, guitarist, and composer, was born in Manhattan. She began to study music when she was only nine years old, first taking violin lessons. After three years, her interest changed to the guitar. At 15, she played her first gig, getting the chance to do a few numbers at a local club called Area Code 212. The pay wasn't great, but after it was over, Meri had found a profession that she knew would never be boring. It was one she had some exposure to, since her father was a working drummer and a jazz lover. When Meri entered the Berklee College of Music, she continued her study of the guitar and added composition, arranging, and orchestration, putting down some good groundwork for her chosen career in music. In 1994, she recorded a debut EP, I'm Not Gonna Say I Told You So. The successful five-track offering was followed in 1999 by a full-length album titled Time Will Tell. Some of the tracks fans will find on these prime releases are "The Good Life," "Take Me Where You're Going," "I'll Miss You All These Years," "You Got the Better of Me," and "The Red Thread." Lisa Meri has performed in both the United States and Europe, appearing at concert halls, festivals, and clubs. Her music has been called an eclectic mix of jazz, rock, and pop. ~ Charlotte Dillon, Rovi
