After issuing an apology to the Till family earlier this week, PepsiCo – the parent company of Mountain Dew – has cut all ties with Lil Wayne over his controversial reference to Emmett Till on Future's "Karate Chop." In a statement made late Friday, the company said Wayne's "offensive reference to a revered civil rights icon" did not reflect the values of their brand.

Wayne rhymed the lyrics "Pop a lot of pain pills/ 'Bout to put rims on my skateboard wheels" with the boast "Beat that pussy up like Emmett Till." After initially refusing to apologize for the lyric, Wayne finally issued a statement Wednesday, coincidentally one day after pressure from the Till family started to put some serious pressure on Mountain Dew to cancel their endorsement deal with Wayne.
