With his band Marmoset on hiatus after 2001's Record in Red, singer/songwriter/guitarist Jorma Whittaker began work on some solo material. Whittaker recruited his former bandmate LonPaul Ellrich (also of June Panic and His Silver Sound, Mysteries of Life, and Sardina) as the producer of the sessions, as well as some of his other Marmoset collaborators, to flesh out his band. Shortly after these sessions were completed, Whittaker moved from Michigan to Brooklyn, NY.
