What The Critics Say

As the title suggests, Jellybean's House Party collects hits from Jellybean Benitez's eponymous label, blended into a party mix by the DJ/producer himself. Highlights include Plasmic Honey's "Welcome to the Club," Jennifer Holliday's "Think It Over (Thunderpuss 2000 Remix)," Future Primitive's "Darkside," and Hard Attack's "Set Me Free," as well as tracks by Also, Soul Solution, Johnny Vicious, and Matt Bianco. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide

What The Critics Say

Jellybean Benitez made serious impact as a performer as well as a producer and remixer with this late '80s album, one of two he did with Chrysalis. He landed two chart hits and extensive urban contemporary radio airplay, plus serious club and dance attention. As always, the production, arrangements, and studio work were brilliant, more than enough to mask frequently routine vocals. ~ Ron Wynn, All Music Guide

What The Critics Say

Jellybean Benitez is one of the greatest producers and mixers in recent dance music history, but it's hard to call most of his releases as a leader "albums." They're impressively produced and arranged sequences, with faceless vocals running in and out of some superbly constructed arrangements. There's much on this album that's really ear-catching, but its lyric and performance content doesn't match its technical brilliance. ~ Ron Wynn, All Music Guide
